Top 3 Laptops on a Budget for Christmas
Today I'm deciding to help out those doing some last-minute Christmas shopping for a laptop. Here are my picks for the top three laptops. One 13", 15", 17". All from Best Buy, and all under $700. The laptops listed are all-around laptops and offer flexibility for the mainstream user.
BEST 13" LAPTOP:
This laptop boasts fairly powerful performance for a small one, 6 hour battery life and a sleek design. Plus it has a 320GB hard drive and a LED backlit 13.3" widescreen display. Really nice and portable with just over an inch thin and just over 4lbs. Great wireless connectivity too and HD graphics. While it lacks an optical drive like many 13" computers, more and more people are finding they don't even need one anymore. An optional external drive is available if needed, though. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit included.
BEST 15" LAPTOP:
Sony VAIO VGN-NW270F/S - $699
At the tip of our posted budget, this Sony VAIO has a nice white design and somehow fits everything from an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, to a 320GB hard drive, 4 hour battery life, to even a Blu-Ray player under a 1.2" thin laptop with a 15.5" LCD display. Great for entertainment, but also good for multitasking. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit included.
BEST 17" LAPTOP:
Gateway NV7802U - $599
This Gateway has a nice 17.3" LED display in full 16:9 aspect ratio. Packed with Intel Core 2 Duo, and a mega 500GB hard drive, it's very unlikely you'll ever run out of room. Great wireless connectivity and plenty of external device slots. It lacks a bit in battery life with only 2 hours and 20 minutes, but that's not too shabby considering the bigger display and performance. It's a great desktop replacement. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
So there you have it, some great new options for the holiday season to keep everyone happy -- you, your wallet, and the person you cared so much for to get a new laptop. Happy shopping.
