Jersey Shore Dominates the Web

Jersey Shore Dominates the Web

Jersey Shore is the the latest hit from MTV involving 8 (now 7) self-proclaimed "guidos" spending the summer on the coast of New Jersey. As you can already see, the plot has little structure. There's drama, comedy, but mostly partying -- spending each night going to clubs, getting drunk, and meeting women/men to bring back home to their beach house. Hate kids? Here's a little ray of sunshine: They have to work in a t-shirt shop to stay in the beach house, which is owned by the owner of the t-shirt shop. However, working has little air time on the show.

Tonight is the season finale, and the web is consumed with everything "Jersey Shore". On Twitter, it's currently the #6 trending topic which is expected to rise to the top by 10pm ET tonight when the season finale airs on MTV. On Facebook, doing a search for Jersey Shore results in 50 status updates per minute involving the phrase. On top of that, Jersey Shore also has a fan page with 600,000+ fans and growing, plus an application that quickly became popular: "What is your Jersey Shore nickname?" For most of the day, the internet has been dominated by Jersey Shore and it is only expected to increase as the night continues.

You can follow the cast members on Twitter as well using the following usernames:
- @JENNIWOWW : Jenni "JWoww"
- @VinnyGMTV : Vinny
- @MTVDJPaulyD : Paul "Pauly D"
- @Sn00ki : Nicole "Snooki"
- @ItsTheSituation : Mike "The Situation"
- @RonnieandSammi : Ronnie and Sammi "Sweetheart", both

I must say while the show kills brain cells, it's pretty funny and entertaining. I too will be tuning in tonight.
