Top Eight Endless Facebook Scams

Top Eight Endless Facebook Scams

This is something I get very aggravated about all the time and people never seem to learn their lesson. They join groups or fan pages that will supposedly activate new Facebook features or upgrade your account. Either that, or fake protests or messages about Facebook that are simply not true. And the best part is, even after being scammed over and over again, people still join new ones.

So, the following is a list that every Facebook user should be aware of. This is the top eight endless Facebook scams.

8. Upgrade to Facebook Chrome
This is the newest one I've seen, which is why its number ten. Other groups may not be called Chrome, but you get the picture. By joining and inviting friends, you'll magically get your Facebook account upgraded to comment on friends' pictures, get a dislike button, and more. Are you serious? Just no.

7. Add a Dislike Button to Facebook
This is never going to happen. And even in the slight chance that it does, its never going to happen by joining a group. There's such a thing as keeping your mouth shut about certain things that may bother you in order to avoid conflict, and its clear that Facebook believes in that principle.

6. Shutting Down Facebook, from "Mark Zuckerberg"
Props to the makers of this scam for actually knowing that Mark Zuckerberg is in fact the founder and CEO of Facebook. Other than that, it's completely fake. This one sends around a Facebook message that says Facebook is closing down, and you must deactivate your account within two weeks. Then it has a nice little signing by Mark Zuckerberg. If Facebook was closing down, do you think Mark Zuckerberg would rely on chain messages to get the message across?

5. Activate Facebook Chat 2.0!
Oh boy is this a good one. Activate Facebook Chat 2.0 to get all these great features! Chat with more than one person, video chat, audio chat, and more! All you have to do is....... INVITE?! Invite your friends and poof, there's your Facebook Chat 2.0. Wait a minute... did you say you never got Chat 2.0? Someone should report this!

4. Switch back to the old Facebook
Isn't the public getting tired of complaining every time Facebook changes? Especially since making groups protesting it never did anything about it in the past, what makes you think it will now? Grow up. Yes, Facebook changes, because they try to improve on it. No group is going to switch you back to the "old" Facebook. Just get used to this one and you'll be fine.

3. Change the Color of Your Facebook
This is probably the oldest one in the book. Join the group to get a menu to change the color of your Facebook profile. Oh, and don't forget to invite ALL your friends! Come on, are we really going that far in depth just to change the measly color of Facebook? Besides, what's wrong with blue?

2. Join to Protest Against Facebook Charging Money Soon!
Let me just say this loud and clear, Facebook is NOT going to charge money. Ever. They are worth more than CBS, worth over a billion dollars. Maybe at one time they would have liked our money, but they don't need it anymore. So say goodbye to those groups, Facebook is staying free.

1. Get a Notification When Someone Views Your Profile
Well, we've reached number one. This has to top all of them, since for some reason, people really want to know who views their profile. Let's get legal about this, shall we? It clearly states in Facebook's privacy policy that seeing who views your profile is prohibited. Ergo, it's not allowed. Ergo, no application, no group, no fan page can activate such a feature.

So there you have it. Eight of the many different fake Facebook groups or inboxes or fan pages. So, let me be straightforward with those who have ever even come close to believing any of this crap -- it's F.A.K.E.
