There's a new rumor going around that seems plausible. It's the fact that for seven minutes of Apple's WWDC keynote hosted by Steve Jobs where it's expected he will unveil the new iPhone, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer may have a few words up on that stage. This small cameo would be used to introduce a possible new ability in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 that will enable developers to finally write apps for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad on a Windows-based computer. As of now you can developers can only create apps using the tools provided for a Mac by Apple. So Steve Ballmer speaking might just be a good thing for Windows users. If this rumor proves to be true on June 7th at WWDC, could it be that Apple and Microsoft are finally playing nice?

Update (2:26p et): Microsoft smashed this rumor to pieces with a recent tweet:

Steve Ballmer not speaking at Apple Dev Conf. Nor appearing on Dancing with the Stars. Nor riding in the Belmont. Just FYI.
