AT&T 3G MicroCell to Be Counted Against Data Plans
AT&T has apparently decided to kick themselves while they are down and add even more stress to customers when using data. The 3G MicroCell was designed and announced a few months ago as a way for users with bad service to stick a microcell in their home and connect to AT&T's 3G network through that. It seems as though any data transmitted through the 3G MicroCell will also be counted in your monthly data plan, which by the way will still have that cap of 2GB at the most.

As BGR puts it:
Seems a bit counter-intuitive that AT&T is charging for data used through the MicroCell when the bulk of the data transmission is carried by your broadband Internet provider, no?Not to mention that with those new capped plans they announced earlier, tethering will cost you an extra $20 a month with no additional data. In other words, you would be paying $20 extra a month just because you are using your data differently, not because it would use any more data because you are still in that 2GB cap.
Oh and the fact that one customer sent an email to AT&T a few weeks ago and they responded by saying "any more emails will have legal action taken against them." Does AT&T even want customers?
