BREAKING: At first I thought it was only me but then I searched Twitter for "facebook down" and results are flooding in with people asking if Facebook crashed. Every so often Facebook is having these short bursts of outages where the page simply just won't load for a few minutes. So if you are experiencing some downtime, this is just a post to say it's not just you, it's many others. Hopefully Facebook will have some word on the matter soon. Some people are even speculating there could be an update coming, but that's usually planned.

Update (4:42p ET): It seems that Facebook is slowly being restored for users experiencing the downtimes. It's completely restored for me and I noticed that overall the site is a bit faster too. It could just be me, but it's possible some speed improvements were made. If Facebook is still down for you, wait it out and it should be restored soon.
