Apple Working on Touchscreen iMacs?

This is what people have been dreaming about for years. Imagine being able to touch your iMac. It's not exactly a breakthrough, since many all-in-one desktops already have touch capabilities. Apple, of course, is looking to put a unique spin on the concept with a patent dug up by Patently Apple.

According to Mashable:

The idea is that when the device is in the upright position, like a standard iMac or flatscreen monitor, it can be controlled using a mouse and keyboard. When reclined, an accelerometer will trigger advanced multi-touch mode and switch the operating system from Mac OS X to iOS.

The Magic Trackpad is already a step forward toward full touch input on an iMac. If this dream were to come true, it would take a lot of power and memory to switch back and forth between two completely different operating systems. Since the iMac just got a refresh, it's likely we won't be seeing this for a while.
