HTC Desire HD and Desire Z to Launch with Improved HTC Sense
This morning -- very early, I might add -- HTC held an event in London to unveil their brand new creations: Desire HD and Desire Z, part of the full HTC Desire family.
The Desire HD (right) boasts a 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor, 8MP camera with dual LED flash, 720p HD video capture, Wireless-N WiFi and a 4.3" touch screen display. It also has the improved HTC Sense UI (more on that below).
The Desire Z (left) is the lower end of the two with an 800MHz Qualcomm processor, 8MP camera with dual LED flash, 720p video capture, and a 3.7" display. The Z however will feature a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard.
Both will be available in October along with the improved HTC Sense user interface for Android. And yes, both will run Android 2.2. The new Sense will basically just be refinements and performance enhancements across the OS. Boot time will be just 10 seconds, maps will render faster, digital compass support will be included, and some changes to the incoming call screen have been made to be less intrusive on what you are currently going. A new site at htcsense.com will launch as well with the phones that will provide services for backing up your phone, locating a lost phone, sending map coordinates, remote wipe, and more.
