iPad Patent Reveals New Design with FaceTime and Landscape Docking
Our dream iPad is here. The folks at Patently Apple dug up a new patent submitted by Apple for a new iPad. The design remains mostly the same from the sketch, but there are some noticeable additions. The first is a 30-pin dock connector now on the side as well as the bottom, which will most likely be used to dock the iPad in landscape mode. The second, and probably most anticipated, is a small circle at the top of the device which is almost a given to be a front-facing camera used for FaceTime video calling. Finally, the third are the mysterious corners of the iPad that were made more prominent in the patent. It's unclear what they will be used for. Some say it may be a touch sensitive area for reading books. Photos after the break.
