This morning Yahoo! took the wraps off its upcoming revamp of the new Yahoo! Mail beta. It promises to improve in five key areas: design, speed, security, connections, and features.

The new Yahoo! Mail has an all new design that Yahoo! says is sleeker and easier to navigate around. It actually just looks like a slightly spruced up Gmail, except it's purple to correspond with the rest of Yahoo's main services. It's also apparently much faster than the previous version and has better anti-spam features. Just a quick input: spam was the reason why I left Y! Mail a couple years ago. Yahoo! is also improving on social connections as you'll now be able to both view and update your Facebook and Twitter feeds from your inbox and your What's New page. Among these features, Yahoo! also says: "We are enhancing a number of features into the product, such as video, photo sharing tools, a new version of Yahoo! Messenger, easier ways to SMS, and a refurbished inbox search page."
