Twitter Announces Brand New Site Redesign

BREAKING: Evan Williams of Twitter just announced on stage that Twitter is unveiling a brand new site redesign tonight at their event. Bare with me, because I'm typing the following points as it is being announced:

- There will be a brand new updated sidebar with expanded views.
- New profiles with stats about that person such as when they joined Twitter, etc.
- New pane on the right will embed pictures and videos just by clicking on an individual tweet plus additional information about the tweet while maintaining the place in your timeline.
- New architecture to make Twitter much more responsive.
- No more "more" button to scroll tweets; tweet endlessly
- Launching today for a certain number of users.
- Rollout for the rest beginning today.

So it appears that my predictions were correct. Twitter is launching a major redesign to Twitter as you can see in the photo above. It really looks nice. The rollout begins tonight to a small amount of users. All 160 million Twitter users will get this redesign over the coming weeks. The whole thing looks significantly like a web application rather than just a website.

So what do you think?
