Sony Introduces Television, Blu-ray Player with Google TV Built In
Sony tonight announced the world's first television to be fully powered by Google TV as well as the world's first Blu-ray player to be powered by Google TV. I have to be perfectly honest, there's nothing new here folks. They are basically just two devices that run Google TV. So, for full details on Google TV you might want to click here. That said, both devices look pretty nice.
The Blu-ray player will be $400. The Sony Internet TV will range from $600 - $1300 for screen sizes ranging from 26" to 46". If you ask me, that's a pretty good value compared to the Logitech Revue which is just a Google TV set-top box for $300.
Both devices come with an odd remote that end users will either love or hate. It kind of looks like some sort of advanced video game controller. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, plus all your standard controls up top. Pictures below.
Pre-orders are available right now, the products will be available in Sony Style stores and online starting this weekend, and available at Best Buy on October 24th.
