I probably just should have made this an update to the previous article listing new features in iOS 4.3 but I thought this deserved special attention. When iOS 4.2 was released it changed the hardware switch on the side of the iPad from a screen orientation lock to a mute switch. Almost no one liked the change, and it appears that iOS 4.3b1 returns the original functionality. You can choose in the settings if you prefer the switch to be for the rotation lock or as a mute switch.
