AT&T Launches HTC Inspire, First 4G Phone on February 12

AT&T is launching its first 4G smartphone on February 12th. The HTC Inspire 4G is an HSPA+ 4G phone that features a 1GHz processor, 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording, Android 2.2 Froyo, WiFi mobile hotspot, and a gorgeous 4.3-inch display.

There's been a debate lately on whether or not HSPA+ is actually 4G, and AT&T CEO Ralph de la Vega seems to think yes. In fact, he says that HSPA+ is now available almost everywhere AT&T currently has wireless coverage. Some like to call HSPA+ 3.5G and LTE the real 4G. Eventually LTE will probably take over the 4G market.

So with all these features, the HTC Inspire 4G is just $99 on a two-year contract. It makes you wonder if this smartphone is a really good deal or a really bad gimmick.
