Twitter Releases Update to iOS to Supposedly Fix #DickBar; They May Have Missed the Point
Matt Graves of Twitter just tweeted the following message transcribed below:
Updated version of Twitter for iOS is now available. Includes bug fixes & Quick Bar is now pinned to the top (no longer overlays Tweets)
Oh, phew. Did you hear that, Twitter? We can stop worrying about the Quick Bar #dickbar. Not quite. Unfortunately, as you may have caught on, the #dickbar still remains. Yes, it's a step forward by not covering tweets, but when you are scrolled up at the top reading your latest tweets, it will still be there to haunt you. It's far from gone. It still takes up precious screen real estate.
I declare that the protests must continue until it's completely removed. I am all for Twitter making the money they deserve, but there are many other options for them to make even more money without annoying its mobile users.
