Bitts Reaches the End of the Road

Bitts Reaches the End of the Road

I have some pretty unfortunate news this afternoon. Bitts has reached the end of the road. As you may or may not know, for the majority of the time on Bitts it has been a one-man show. Hi, I'm George. I launched this tech news site on December 1, 2009 and since then have written over 1,000 articles up until this point. Since its launch, I've seen a slow and steady increase in followers and for that I must thank you. I really did enjoy serving up the news each day as well as writing the occasional editorial piece. The site will remain up probably for the rest of the year since I have so much content that still generates views. But while this is the end of the road for Bitts, I'm happy to announce that this is not the end of the road for me.

I will be joining the team at skattertech.com, a great technology publication on the rise. You read it correctly, I'm going to be putting on my journalism game face. I often criticized journalism in the past for being too formal and too long and drawn out, and though I'll be more formal in my writing on Skatter Tech than I am here, I can assure you my main goal is to inject as much personality as possible. I've always believed that personality is really what makes something interesting.

I'm not quite done with my announcements though. On the side of working at Skatter Tech, I'm also launching a brand new technology website. Do you like reading John Gruber's Daring Fireball? You'll love the GT Daily. Instead of writing news pieces every day (which you'll find at Skatter Tech from now on), I'll linking to the latest technology news around the web and inputting my own comments and quotes on them. It's going to be a completely casual experience full of knowledge, wit, and sarcasm. I'll give more details on the site in another post but I hope to launch it on June 1st.

So that's it! Again, thank you to all my new and loyal readers here on Bitts. I hope you'll join me at Skatter Tech -- I begin writing there very soon -- and on GTD when it launches! Stay tuned.
