New Firefox 4.0 Screenshots

Firefox 3.6 is expected to arrive within a few weeks and Firefox 4.0 is expected to ship sometime toward mid-to-end of 2010. New screenshots revealed have uncovered some new design changes that finally get rid of the old Windows XP look of the current version of Firefox.

As you can see, there's a new overall design to it. It fits better into the Windows Aero (transparency) look of Windows Vista and Windows 7. The number one represents the Firefox app button, a new button. Those users of Microsoft Office 2007 know that this is similar to the office logo in that software. The Firefox button acts as a condensed version of all the File, Edit, etc. menus usually at the top of the screen.

Also, you can see some things have moved around. The Home button is next to tabs, and tabs are now on top of the navigation bar instead of underneath, making much more room to see the content of the website. Firefox now has a Google Chrome-ish feel to it.

Omg no.... not another MS Office redo with that PITA button in the top left corner... I really hope we don't get picture icons that I have to figure out instead of straightforward, simple, easy-access text-menus.

I really hope they are careful.

Overall, it's a streamlined look though.
