Facebook Chat sucks. It's probably the most buggy web app I've ever used in my entire life. If you think it's just your computer, you aren't alone. Common bugs include:

- Simply clearing the chat conversation at any given moment
- When loading a new page, your previous chat window closes out.
- New friends not loading live as they should
- Certain users' Chat freezes on incoming messages (separate fix for that)

Here's what to do to make Facebook Chat a little more bug free.

1. On Facebook, click Chat on the bottom right on the bar.
2. In the pop up list of your friends, go all the way to the top and click Options.
3. Underneath Options, click Pop Out Chat.

This puts Facebook Chat in its own separate window, not built into Facebook. You should see that all the disappearing messages and bugs are virtually out of your hair. Plus, you have more screen real estate in viewing your conversations. Enjoy the tip!
