Firefox 4.0 Deadline Pushed Back
Firefox is going straight down the tubes and this proves it. They announced quite recently that they are pushing back the deadlines to finish both version Firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0. This isn't the first time they pushed back something. Firefox 3.5 was originally an earlier date than expected.
Firefox 3.6 will include support for Personas built in, plus speed enhancements and faster boot time. Firefox 4.0 will receive a major UI facelift plus other under-the-hood changes.
Originally scheduled for December 2009, Firefox 3.6 has been pushed to release in the first quarter of 2010. Originally scheduled for mid to late 2010, Firefox 4.0 is now scheduled for a late 2010 or early 2011 release.
Let's just get something straight. Firefox is pretty much now out of date in the browser world. The only thing keeping it alive is addons, which Chrome now has in its latest beta. Firefox is slow, opens up slow, has a lame Windows XP-styled user interface, and it's in my opinion not a good browser anymore.
Internet Explorer is even catching up with promises to really push into a good market in Internet Explorer 9. Google Chrome is the fastest browser out there and now with extensions, it's customizable. Plus, they are building up their security each day. While Safari is a resource hogger, it certainly does load faster than Firefox. That's enough for me. I use Google Chrome 4.0 beta and I love it ever since switching from Firefox.
