Nexus One: Almost-Confirmed Google Phone

Nexus One: Almost-Confirmed Google Phone

In just a day we've received a numerous amount of additional information on the Google Phone, now said to be called the Nexus One. It's practically almost confirmed, the only thing stopping it from having the title CONFIRMED is Google's own announcements for it, which have not been made yet.

Here's what we know, it's going to be called the Nexus One, or at least that's its name for now. New information about the carrier, it will not have an exclusive carrier. It will be an unlocked phone and sold online. Meaning that you get to choose your own carrier, but fees and setting up on the carrier will come separately at the cost of the carrier.

It will have a wide touchscreen and most likely be built by HTC. It will carry a small scroll ball for the device for its own form of use. Rumored date launch is January 2010. And that's about all we know. So why do we consider it almost confirmed?

Google is currently testing some sort of device with employees and other professionals all over the world. Plus, reports this morning see the Nexus One hitting visitor logs on a few websites -- specifically with the name of Nexus One, a device viewing the website's content. So clearly, as if not already assumed, the Nexus One has it's own internet browser.

SO WHY WOULD THIS BE AN IPHONE BEATER? This is by far the top candidate for an iPhone beater. Forget Droid or Pre, this would be it. Why? Because like Apple, Google has it's own loyal fan base. There are people that as soon as they heard Apple was releasing a phone, they planned to buy it regardless of features or reviews because they just love Apple. When a Google phone is confirmed, it will work the same way because Google has that fan base to drive sales immediately after launch.
