Rumor has it that AOL is looking to buy the popular social media site, Mashable. Which is a surprise to me because AOL owns Engadget since 2005, which is another popular tech site. The two apparently have been "whispering" back and forth about a deal.

One wouldn't know what AOL would want to do with not only another blog, but another blog in the same category. Possibly fuse them together to make an ultra tech blog? Or just make money. Lots of money.
