Free Texts to Haiti on AT&T

AT&T announced that they will not charge their customers to send text messages in support of Haiti's earthquake crisis.

AT&T provides their own service for their users also. By texting HAITI to 90999, you will donate $10 to the Red Cross International Relief Fund and 100% of all proceeds will go directly to the fund. A confirmation message will be sent back after you text it, in which case you reply "YES" to confirm the donation you've made, and then it will be added onto your monthly bill. So, this is a quick way to send a little love down to the folks who need it.

“AT&T is pleased to be a participating carrier in this program,” said Ralph de la Vega, president and chief executive officer of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “In addition to the generosity of its subscribers, AT&T has donated $200,000 this year to the American Red Cross for emergency relief as part of a five-year, $1 million commitment.”
