Windows 7 Usage Peaks Above Mac in USA

Today was the very first day since Windows 7 has launched that in the United States, market share has finally peaked over Mac OS X, according to StatCounter. It appears that both Windows Vista and Windows 7 usage increases anywhere from 2-6% on weekends whereas Windows XP seems to decline about 7% on weekends. I can assume maybe because most businesses are still using Windows XP and of course, businesses usually operate during the weekdays.

Today, Windows 7 has risen above Mac OS X market share with 14.41%, while Mac OS X has 13.34%. Worldwide, however has been a different story. Windows 7 first peaked above Mac OS X worldwide on November 26, 2009 with almost 5% of market share worldwide. Now, Mac OS X has 5.26% with Windows 7 all the way up to a little over 11%.

Windows 7's growth has been reported to be twice as fast as Windows Vista's growth at its launch, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
