It's a little later than planned, but Apple has announced this morning the official release date for the WiFi iPads, and that magical and revolutionary date will be April 3rd, 2010. Starting March 12th, Apple will be accepting preorders from the Apple Store.


This release date is only for the USA. Other countries will be getting the iPad in late April. 3G models in the US will also be available in late April, though no confirmed date has been announced yet.


The price for WiFi models starts at $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, and $699 for 64GB. The 3G models will be an extra $130 more for each. View more details about the Apple iPad here.
