Twitter Reaches 10 Billion Tweets
Twitter was launched in 2006 and just four short years later, we, the users, have reached ten billion tweets. The ten billionth tweet was posted about 40 minutes ago (7:50p eastern) by a protected account on Twitter, so unfortunately we are unable to see the tweet. Incredible enough though, over 1.5 million tweets have been tweeted since the extraordinary milestone.
What does all mean? We tweet. A lot. And how do we know that we've hit ten billion tweets? GigaTweet is a website dedicated to counting the number of tweets. It's a huge counter that goes very, very fast. It even estimates when we will hit further goals in number of tweets tweeted on Twitter (say that five times fast).
Hey, did you know Bitts had a Twitter page with over 400 followers? Might want to check that out.
