Finally, a new feature worthwhile has actually come to iTunes -- the ability to give an iPhone/iPod Touch application as a gift to a friend! As of now, it only works on iTunes and not from the iPhone, but it's still something.

All you have to do is, on the app's page, click the down arrow next to the price and select Gift This App. You will then be brought to a page where you can fill out a quick form with Name, Recipient, and Personal Message, and then you can send it by email or print it out yourself. Your account will be charged for the purchase after you submit that and a receipt will be emailed to you afterward.

Be aware you can only send gifts from the country it was purchased.
