Nexus One Comes to AT&T Unlocked

Nexus One Comes to AT&T Unlocked

Google has announced today that there is a new version of the Nexus One which is unlocked and is compatible with AT&T's 3G network as well as Rogers, a carrier in Canada.

When the Nexus One first came out, there were two options to purchase the phone. You can buy it on T-Mobile under an exclusive contract, or you can buy the phone unlocked that would work on other GSM operators, which would be AT&T. The problem was that AT&T's 3G network used different bands, so in order to get the Nexus One on AT&T, you could only use it's slower EDGE network or 2.5G.

Unlocked phones come at a steep price, though. To purchase the unlocked Nexus One compatible with AT&T 3G, it's a hefty $529. Purchasing it with a T-Mobile plan is $179. Visit google.com/phone.
