So, Apple Won't Replace a Dead iPad Battery?
I'm sorry, what? If you have a faulty or dead battery without the ability to recharge again, Apple won't replace it. This was clearly stated tonight as Apple posted its details for battery services. Oh, but wait a minute, I know why! They will replace your entire iPad! Yes, for $99, instead of servicing your iPad for a new battery like issues with the iPhone would entail, Apple is sending you an entirely new iPad for that fee!
That's a pretty good deal, especially if you have the most expensive iPad with 3G and 64GB storage at $829, it appears to still be $99. The bad news is, your personal data won't be on that new iPad. So, you better back up all your data on iTunes before you plan on receiving a new iPad or you can kiss your digital life goodbye until its built back up on the new iPad.
This battery replacement service might appeal to some though, especially those that tend to drop their devices a lot. All those scratches and chips will gloriously disappear as your new iPad arrives. What do you think of the service?
