Twitter Steps Up Security with "twt.tl"
Twitter announced tonight that it will begin taking necessary steps to finally block, or at least reduce, spamming on Twitter. This is focused especially on links shared that could lead to potentially harmful websites.
One of the ways they will do this is by starting to shorten URLs sent in email notifications and direct messages with their own shortener, twt.tl. This will work "behind the scenes" to track and protect any spam links that are being sent and warn the user of an occurance.
Spam is one of Twitter's biggest issue and it brings a peace of mind to see an initiative being made to stop it.
