Adobe Flash for Android, Other Smartphones Pushed to 2H 2010

During a Fox Business interview with Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen about the release of Adobe's Creative Suite 5, news was slipped that Adobe Flash 10.1 for smartphones would be pushed back to the second half of this year. These smartphones included Android, BlackBerry, and webOS-based phones. Adobe recently had videos floating around the internet of tours as to how great Flash is on a typical device, but it seems they can't support that with a solid release date.

The irony of all this is, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, personally thinks Adobe is a lazy company and Flash is one of the main reasons for many crashes on the Mac and even PC. Adobe certainly isn't in any rush to prove Steve Jobs wrong with this announcement. This is why Flash once again will not be in the upcoming release of iPhone OS 4.0 and Jobs recently stated there's no plans to incorporate it in the future.

It's actually a bit disappointing Adobe can't support themselves. Many times they were furious, especially recently, that Apple has chose not to put Flash on the iPhone and they go ahead and push back the release date of Flash 10.1. I think it's safe to say people have gone this far without Flash, that it's no longer a major necessity for a mobile device.
