Design & Features of Apple's Next iPhone Uncovered
You probably have heard about the new iPhone 4G (or as some call it, the iPhone HD) apparently to have been found on the floor of a San Jose bar. It was first found by Engadget and looked pretty legitimate but of course with a few kinks in the design. Plus, when they first got their hands on it, they were able to play with it with the iPhone 4.0 OS still in tact--that is until Apple remotely bricked the device. After that, it was claimed on a forum that the phone was a Japanese knock-off. Now, Gizmodo actually got their hands on the phone, and they are pretty certain that this will be Apple's next-generation iPhone, The full device (read on for full pics).
So how does Gizmodo actually know for sure that this is the next iPhone? They went inside of it of course! They completely took it apart to examine its insides, and according to them it looks all to "familiar". The different parts used are familiar with what Apple has used in the past for designing the iPhone. Word is already spreading on this major leak. Of course, there's bound to be some design changes before Apple is expected to unveil this new iPhone in the summer. For example, there's seams in the aluminum on the edges and the back is just as flat as the front--two characteristics Apple never seems to use in anything it designs.
After a thorough examination, Gizmodo was able to come up with these specs:
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic
The phone also has a 16% larger battery, which clearly means more battery life. Plus, parts inside were shrunk a bit to make more room for the battery. It's also 3 grams heavier. View pics below. What do you think?
