Facebook Replaces Unofficial Fan Pages with "Community Pages"

In the past months, or even year, there has been a significant trend in the use of Pages on Facebook. Originally, they were for celebrities or organizations that needed to be official, but this evolved into different uses. People started making their own fan pages to support a cause, topic, or idea of some sort such as "Betty White for SNL!" or "Having a friend you can always go to." Facebook would in turn eventually remove the page or administrative rights of the person that made this unofficial page.

Now, Facebook is replacing those unofficial pages with "community pages" that users can quickly make to support a topic or cause. Of course, you can still make regular fan pages, but it will need to be official. Both of these types of pages basically act the same--there's no real difference.
