Google Confirms Android 2.2 to Support Adobe Flash

TIP: You may wonder why I always use "Adobe Flash" in the title instead of Flash. This is to distinguish Adobe Flash from flash as in a flash camera. I've gotten many people confused with this difference.

Onward with the article. Google's own Andy Rubin not only confirmed that the next version of the Android operating system, Android 2.2, will support Flash but also threw a little smack talk at Apple during the confirmation.

Rubin quoted that Google's openness definition "means not to be militant about the things consumers are actually enjoying". This is clearly opposing Apple's decision to leave out Adobe Flash support in all devices running iPhone OS, because they apparently consider Adobe lazy and are banking on HTML5 to lead the way of the web.

In fact, Adobe previously demoed Flash fully functional on Android 2.2 last month which can be seen below. No word on the release of Android 2.2.
