Microsoft Unveils Kin, New Phone for Sharing
BREAKING: At their special event in San Francisco, after long speculation of Microsoft's Project Pink phones, Microsoft unveiled the new phone called Kin that comes in two flavors: Kin 1 and Kin 2. Kin 1 is a more compact phone that actually resembles an egg. Kin 2 is probably where it's at with a wider screen, better camera shooting 720p HD video, and more memory. Put simply, it is the ultimate social networking and sharing device.

The phones will be exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the United States and they will arrive in stores next month in May. The Kin 1 features a 5MP camera and Kin 2 features 8MP camera. The great cameras are supposed to go along with ease of sharing photos, videos, and statuses. The Kin "Spot" will be a little middle circle on the touch screen devices where you can drag almost any content on your phone and share it with friends or on MySpace, Facebook, or Windows Live. The Kin "Loop" is the home page screen with three panes dedicated to your social feed, your contacts, and other phone features such as, well, the phone.
They do NOT run Windows Phone 7 mobile OS, but instead are based off of Microsoft Silverlight, their competitor to Adobe Flash. It also has a built in Zune player with all your music, videos, photos, and other content that can use the Zune software to sync with. Speaking of sync, Kin syncs through the cloud to Kin.com where you can eventually see all of your photos and videos from your phone instantaneously synced through to the site and view them in timeline mode to see certain events according to when they happened.
No pricing or specific release date has been detailed yet but once again, it will be exclusive to Verizon and will be released sometime in May.
