Google CEO Eric Schmidt has confirmed to a bunch of his friends at a Los Angeles party that Google is, in fact, planning to create a tablet device that will rival Apple's iPad. Schmidt had previously labeled the iPad as just a large phone, but since the confirmation of the tablet also includes the detail that it will not run Chrome OS, but Android, Google seems to be contradicting itself.

Is it me or does Google want to get in every market possible? They need to stick to their Internet services and software--not hardware. Clearly it's not for them. But we'll see how Google makes this tablet their own if and when its released.
