Apple announced this morning that Apple has sold over 1.7 million iPhone 4 smartphones in just the first three days of its release -- June 24th, 25th, and 26th. It's an incredible number to accomplish and nearly double of what was sold in the first three days of the 3GS. In their press release, Apple CEO Steve Jobs had a few words:

This is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history. Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.
