Google Chrome Usage Passes Safari in U.S.
In the past week, StatCounter is reporting that for the first time on a weekly basis, Google Chrome usage has peaked above Apple's Safari web browser, making Google Chrome the #3 most popular browser in the USA. There have been one or two days where Chrome has just barely made it above Safari in the stats and then swooped back down under. But this week on average, Chrome has finally beat out Safari.
Even with Apple's recent release of Safari 5, it didn't seem to hold up on Chrome's slow, but steady growth over the past year.On the chart below you can squint to see Chrome's usage just a hair more than Safari this week, with Internet Explorer and Firefox still vastly in the lead.
