Apple Unveils the New iPhone 4
Apple today unveiled at WWDC a brand new version of the iPhone, called the iPhone 4. It will be available on June 24th on AT&T only for $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB. The new iPhone packs loads of new features. The highlights would be a front facing camera that includes a Face Time feature for video calling as well as what Apple calls a retina display with a 960x680 resolution display with a pixel density so large, individual pixels cannot be seen by the human eye. There's also an upgraded 5 MP camera on the back with LED flash, that also shoots video in high definition, 720p. With camera features comes iMovie for iPhone, with the ability to edit and fully create movies on your iPhone with transitions, effects, and more. The design is the same as the leaked Gizmodo prototype.
On the inside, there's a faster A4 processor that's used in the iPad as well as a totally new gyroscope for an extremely better gaming experience.
It will run the newly updated iPhone OS 4.0, today renamed iOS 4, which includes support for app folders, multitasking, iBooks, Bing search, and more. Full details on the software update can be found here. iOS 4 will be available as a free upgrade for iPhone 3GS and 3G on June 21st, but 3G will not get multitasking. It will also be available for iPod Touch users, but older touches will not get multitasking. iPod Touches will get the upgrade for a small fee.
