On top of all the tremendous features in iPhone 4 there's something else that was also presented at today's WWDC keynote and that is apps for FarmVille and Guitar Hero. Netflix, too, will also be coming to iPhone but FarmVille and Guitar Hero were the focal points of the app presentations.

FarmVille will be renamed "Farming for iPhone". It will be a specially designed iPhone app based off of FarmVille. The creators of Zynga got up on stage at Moscone Center and revealed the entire plan. The unique feature of Farming for iPhone is push notifications. How could FarmVille possibly use push, you may ask? Well, when your crops are withering, you'll know soon enough to jump right into the app after receiving an alert and get your farm in ship shape! FarmVille for iPhone will be coming soon on both iPhone and iPod Touch (and iPad, but not as a native app).

Once Zynga jumped off stage, Activision came up to discuss the new Guitar Hero for iPhone. It will basically have the same functionality of Guitar Hero regularly does, only it will be optimized for the unique multi-touch interface of the iPhone and iOS 4. Guitar Hero will be available in the app store soon for just $2.99. Apple's own iMovie will arrive in the app store as well for $4.99 to edit videos on your iPhone 4. Plus iBooks and Netflix, both from iPad, will now have iPhone-optimized apps available in the app store.
