Update (1:45p ET): Looks like there's a bunch of backup issues being reported by users. It's taking an extremely long time to backup. Those of you who didn't download yet might want to hold up until Apple's servers are running smoothly, which may take quite a few hours or even a day or two. I'm also having these problems, and I've only gotten this far after 10 minutes of backup:
Update (6:44p ET): The issue has been clarified. Apparently, the slow backup was only for users with an iPhone 3G. My backup took over two hours ands tayed on the same percentage as the picture above for most of the time, then shot up to about 75% and quickly finished. So those of you with the slow backup issues, wait it out because it will eventually complete faster than the progress bar makes it look. Happy updating!
