Amazon E-Books Now Outselling Hardcover Books
Amazon is now reporting that e-books on the Kindle are now outselling physical hardcover books. It's an astonishing accomplishment not only for Amazon, but for technology. There will always be people who prefer fine-printed books, but the new data that Amazon announced certainly marks today's day and age in which electronic e-readers are rising to the top.
Amazon has said:
For every 100 hardcover books Amazon.com has sold, it has sold 143 Kindle books. Over the past month, for every 100 hardcover books Amazon.com has sold, it has sold 180 Kindle books...The growth rate of Kindle device unit sales has tripled since we lowered the price from $259 to $189.So there you have it. Now if only Amazon could spruce up the design of the Kindle and maybe throw in a retina display?
