Facebook Officially Has 500 Million Users
You may recall my article almost two months ago declaring that Facebook had a half of a billion users after Mark Zuckerberg slipped it out at the D8 conference, but apparently he was just rounding up. As of this morning, Facebook has a half billion users using the website. It's a remarkable goal for any website to even dream of accomplishing and Facebook has finally gotten there. What's even more remarkable is how they still keep the website significantly speedy for the most part.
If you do the math, 7.35% of every single person in the world has a Facebook account. It may not seem like a lot, but it's definitely a lot. So it's a big milestone not only for Facebook, but for the entire population. It shows how we can now embrace technology and embrace the internet in ways that many people shunned out in the past. Congrulations, Facebook.
