iPhone Coming to T-Mobile This Quarter?

The iPhone without a doubt is one of the most talked about gadgets in all of technology. One of the biggest things to be talked about is when it will finally leave what many people consider the dreaded AT&T and expand onto more networks. Most people would like Apple's iPhone to mozy on over to Verizon, but Cult of Mac is reporting something a little different.

According to their sources, Apple is very likely to be releasing the iPhone on T-Mobile in Q3, which just so happens to be this quarter.

Talks between Apple and T-Mobile are at an advanced stage, our source says, and it’s 80 percent likely that the iPhone will be coming to T-Mobile in Q3.

The source works at T-Mobile but asked not to be quoted directly and to remain anonymous because they aren’t authorized to talk to the press.

T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom, which carries the iPhone in Germany, was able to influence, the source said. T-Mobile USA is the fourth-largest U.S. carrier with 33.7 million customers.
Many sources also report that Apple's exclusivity contract with AT&T in the United States ends this year or may have already ended. Rather than going over to Verizon and creating a CDMA compatible iPhone, it may be easier for Apple to keep with the same GSM network that both AT&T and T-Mobile use. The problem is T-Mobile has quite a few problems as it is and while their 3G network is very speedy, customer satisfaction is fair at best. Will iPhone users embrace a possibly new option soon or will it be Verizon or nothing?
