Microsoft Announces Kinect Pricing and Bundles
Microsoft today announced pricing for their new hands-free form of gaming called Kinect. Kinect will be sold as an add-on to the Xbox 360 or in a bundle including a brand new 4GB Xbox 360. Previously leaked pricing from GameStop had some similar pricing, however there's no mention of an Elite bundle in Microsoft's announcement. I couldn't do a better job at announcing the pricing than Microsoft itself so:
Kinect for Xbox 360, which will include the Kinect Sensor and the video game “Kinect Adventures,” will retail for US$149.99 when it launches Nov. 4 in North America, the company revealed. The Kinect Sensor will work with each of the 40 million Xbox 360s currently in households worldwide.
For those who don’t yet have an Xbox but want in on the controller-free experience, Microsoft also announced an all-in-one Xbox 360 Kinect Console Bundle for US$299. The bundle will include the new Xbox 360 4GB console, Kinect Sensor, and “Kinect Adventures.” Additional games, including “Kinectimals,” “Kinect Sports,” and “Kinect JoyRide,” will retail for US$49 each.
Starting today, consumers can pre-order Kinect for Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 Kinect Console Bundle at most major retailers. Josh Hutto, director of product marketing for Xbox, said that Kinect represents a great value for new and existing Xbox 360 customers.
