Twitter Rolls Out Follower Suggestions Feature
Twitter says that it will be rolling out a brand new feature called "Suggestions for You" under the Find People page at the top right of Twitter. This will use an algorithm to find similar people on Twitter to the ones you are currently following and suggest that you can follow them. You can also hide a specific suggestion to not see them anymore.
On top of that, when you follow someone new on Twitter, a small pop up will appear underneath suggesting users similar to that one you might also want to follow on Twitter. Twitter says that this is a simple, yet powerful tool for discovering new people on Twitter. Currently, there is a "Browse Interests" feature that will turn up popular users based on particular interest. It's not clear if the algorithms in Suggestions for You will also turn up the more popular accounts by default, but sometimes people don't always want the most popular. Hopefully this feature will even things out a bit and give some of the lower-end users a chance to rise and be noticed by people with common interests.
