Engadget just received word that Apple will be holding a "special event" in San Francisco on September 1st, presumably at 10am PT as always. I don't know about you, but I'm thinking it's going to be about music:

The main rumors this year have been an iOS-equipped Apple TV for just $99 and an iPod Touch with FaceTime and retina display. Plus, just yesterday sparked a rumor about $0.99 TV rentals in iTunes. Hopefully, we'll be seeing all three along with iOS 3.1 with Game Center, and maybe some new iPod nanos and classics? We'll know for sure just a week from today!
