Google Launches Voice Calling in Gmail
BREAKING: Google has announced that voice calling will be coming to Gmail for free in the United States and Canada and will follow fees of Google Voice when calling international. International calling will start at $0.02 per minute and will vary among different countries. You must have a Google Voice account to use this, however. If you do, you're in luck. All you need to do is look for the "Call phone" button in Google Chat to get started. Then, dial a phone number and be on your way.
"Our hope is that we will be able to make enough margin off international calls so that this [the free calls] may continue," said Todd Jackson at the press conference today.
