Facebook has launched a new application called Facebook Live that will focus on streaming video live from Facebook headquarters. The topics of live videos will mainly be about guests and celebrities that stop by Facebook HQ, events held there, and keeping up with what's new on Facebook. Currently, the stream is offline but there is a broadcast scheduled to air tonight at 3:15pm pacific/6:15 eastern. You can also post a status from the Facebook Live app, view other statuses being posted, chat live with other viewers, submit a question or comment, and invite friends to join in and watch live events with you.

Facebook is using Livestream as the main provider for Facebook Live. Livestream is an online service that provides users with the chance to host live video online and even embed it on other sites, similar to UStream. Speaking of which, Facebook Live can be embedded on an external website for viewing there.
