Google Announces Voice Actions for Android
Today at Google's Mobile Event, Google unveiled their new service for all Android 2.2 phones called Voice Actions. Voice Actions will be able to take their highly praised voice recognition feature a step further by allowing you to really fulfill tasks on your phone just with your voice. You can send a text message or email message simply by saying "Send text message to Joe. Hi Joe. How are you?" Voice Actions will recognize all of that and get it sent right out for you. "Go to" will take you to any website. You can also perform map searches or search for music both on any music apps you might own or on the web. My favorite command is "Note to Self" which will send an email to yourself as a reminder with your personal note after saying the command line.
Voice Actions will be available on Android 2.2 only and will come pre-loaded on the Motorola Droid 2.
