iTunes 10 originally launched earlier this month with the new flagship feature being iTunes Ping, a social network built into iTunes that aims directly at sharing music and music interests with friends.

With iTunes 10.0.1, released today, that experience is now brought directly to your iTunes library with the addition of the Ping Sidebar. Ping Sidebar will allow you to see your friends' recent activity (e.g. likes, posts, and purchases) to the right of your current view without having to switch to the full Ping screen using the navigation link in the left sidebar.

iTunes 10.0.1 also brings a number of bug fixes.
